SPARTAN - Le Mans Coupes
Wakefield Racing

THE PUREST DRIVING EXPERIENCE.

With a passion for perfection, twin brothers Nick and Peter Pap have designed and built a supercar with a voluptuous body to rival a Ferrari and performance to surpass most supercars. Their dedication has seen them develop one of the quickest and lightest track cars in the world today, the Spartan.

The Spartan has been born and bred as a true roadster with no roof, no doors and just a small speedster-style windscreen. The car has been designed with a laser focus…to be quick, fun and offer the driver a huge adrenalin rush.

The aesthetic design of the Spartan is based on 60’s race cars with a modern retro look and styling that is raw and minimalistic – spartan. Carbon-fibre body panels with quick-release fasteners, fully adjustable active racing shock absorbers and exposed suspension components reinforce the aggressive form and function of the car. The chassis is not only lightweight but extremely tough with its tubular spaceframe design providing superior stiffness. The Honda 2.4 litre engine is at the heart and soul of this very special car.

With its super-lightweight construction, low centre of gravity and spectacular braking, the Spartan makes for one hell of an engaging drive. There are no driver aids – it’s like a big go-kart with driver involvement paramount. You feel the grip through the seat and every ridge and nuance through your fingertips. That coupled with its amazing mechanical grip makes for the most pure and thrilling driving experience imaginable.

The Spartan will be limited to just 300 units.

THE SPARTAN ENGINEERING & MORE

The Spartan is powered by a Honda 2.4 litre engine and offers spectacular braking and cornering levels you would normally only experience in formula vehicles. Thanks to its light weight and power, the performance of the Spartan outstrips that of super-sport cars with many times the power, cost and maintenance.

The Spartan will deliver a pure driving experience – an unfiltered adventure aided by no roof or doors and only a bike-inspired windscreen leaving you completely immersed with your surroundings. The Spartan experience is as close to driving a formula car as you will ever get.

The ambition is for the Spartan to be affordable, lightweight, easily maintainable, and perform to the highest standards by using the best quality components in combination with clever and innovative engineering. The Spartan is built to a standard and not a price, period.

The suspension is designed, engineered and tested to allow for a ride that is supple, predictable and confidence inspiring right up to the limit and deliver great feedback to the driver, a testament to development driver Barton Mawer.

The damper kit is a Tractive Suspension ACE Kit. This kit is a stand-alone damper kit that wires into the supplied TracTive Control Unit (TCU) mounted in the centre of the car. The TCU is a G-Force sensor that is constantly sending the dampers information about the attitude of the car. They can completely soften the ride over ripple strips yet stiffen up in an instant as the car builds G-Force. Think of them as a 4-way shock that can be programmed to react to your driving style through a touch screen with 5 memory settings. Using these memory settings, the driver is effectively dictating the stiffness range that the dampers are permitted to work in. As the car enters a corner and builds G-force the dampers will stiffen. If for some reason the G-signature of the car drops, ie. there is slip, the dampers will soften to assist in re-establishing grip. TracTive’s patented valve can move from full hard to full soft in 6-10 milliseconds.

The downforce of the Spartan at 200km/h and 250km/h is 299kg and 467kg respectively thanks to it’s front splitter, rear diffuser and wing. CFD development has been undertaken to maximise the aerodynamic potential of the underbody of the vehicle without compromising the mechanical nature of the vehicle. The aerodynamic balance of the vehicle has been designed to ensure that it compliments the weight distribution of the vehicle and to provide excellent high speed cornering adjustability to accommodate all driver’s preferences. By altering a combination of front ride height, rear wing position (5 setting) and rear wing gurney orientation it is possible to achieve a highly dynamic aero balance of 48% down to a more stable and forgiving value of 32%. This adjustability will also ensure that the vehicle is desirable to drive at high speed circuits independent of the weather or track conditions.

Safety is of paramount importance to Spartan Motor Company – a safety cell incorporated into the design exceeds current CAMS/FIA safety standards. Complementing the world-class chassis are many CNC machined billet suspension and chassis components. All parts on the Spartan are carefully selected with quality and safety in mind.

The Spartan’s hand-crafted carbon fibre body, weighing less than 20kg, is a testament to the degree to which Spartan Motor Company will pursue to decrease the weight to achieve the highest performance attainable. A painted fiberglass body will be available on the base model.

A unique feature to the Spartan is its ambidextrous driving configuration, the foot pedal unit and steering column are interchangeable from right to left-hand drive.

The combination of quality products, innovative engineering and lightweight materials contribute to the unrivalled chassis balance. Additionally, they result in lower running costs for the short and long term future ownership of the customer.

The Spartan will be road legal in the UK – available with light package, handbrake and lift kit.

Throwback to our first client GT40. The livery is very appropriate as this car was delivered to the late, great Alan Mann who ran GT40s and other iconic cars in period.
What livery do you think is most iconic on a GT40?

English Fords !!

Simply stunning

Probably the Gulf one but the same could be said for the 917...so maybe it should be shelby stripes 🤷🏼‍♂️

A GT40 is such an iconic car it would look great with any livery but if I could afford one it would have to be in the gulf livery

I liked the "Holman and Moody" cars for 1966.. Number 1, Number 5 and Number 6...

Gulf

After you drove me around Donington in your ‘Brawn’ GT40, I would have to think VERY hard between a Gulf 40 or the 39PH tribute! 🤷🏻‍♂️😎

So great to see the growth and success of Hyper Racer and this exciting news. Looking forward to bringing this level of expansion to the UK market📣 ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

Hyper Racer appoints Summons Racing for Customer Racing expansion.

HYPER RACER is excited to announce the appointment of the Victorian based organisation, SUMMONS RACING, to provide Hyper Racer customer support for sales, leasing plans, “Arrive & Drive” packages, storage, maintenance, transport and track requirements.

The appointment of Summons Racing provides additional factory space adjacent to Hyper Racer HQ, tripling the available floor space to support the ever growing demand.

Summons Racing founder, Rob Summons, is extremely pleased with the association with Hyper Racer. “We absolutely love Hyper Racer, the low cost ethos of going racing as well as the product itself, an extremely fast racing car”, he said. When prompted about how the association came about, he added, “The Hyper Racer team made it clear that they were fast running out of space and in desperate need of room to scale and grow to fill the number of orders coming in.”

With Summons Racing (Vic) and Carbon Racing (NSW) providing race support, Hyper Racer can now focus on the manufacturing of new cars to add to the grid throughout the 2024 season and beyond.

Most definitely.

I would love one

You are absolutely right. Beautiful machine.

Very nice, but not as sweet as the AC cars version., the a98 coupe

Jackasses will still say it's "not real" while driving their minivans though.
